Ya know what? I think this controversy can be settled by trying it BOTH ways and seeing if the level is different. Check it in park while it's running while it's still cold, then check it in neutral right after before it warms up. If it drops in neutral, you'll know the answer.

It's the same either way. In Park with the parking brake set is safer, but the result is the same. The difference between Park and Neutral is a tab that interlocks with a gear to prevent the trans from moving.

The point is in Chrysler transmissions, the pump doesn't run in park, but in the AW4, apparently it does. Therefore no level change.
