avoid busting the window crank handle?
I found a topic on how to remove the window crank handle in which more than one person said they are not clipped in. Understood, however, these Jeep crank handles have four clips that latch onto the metal and so I busted mine apart trying to get my door apart.
My question for avoiding this in the future (the next time someone decides to bust one of my windows or otherwise): Can one find a handle that fits the Jeep window crank that is NOT so difficult to remove but fits snugly? Imma 95 Cherokee 4WD SE, btw. additionally, anyone here with experience replacing the driver's side quarter window: did you find that any of the quarter windows between 1989 and 1995 fit for replacement? |
the seal will fit 87 to 95 so id say the glass will also,my handles just pop off dont now what you mean clips

yea my window cranks just pop off with alittle force

thanks for replying. The crank grasps on its backside... they're not really "clips," just four claws--if you will. I think mine got stuck over the years. bought a new handle already.
the quarter window is difficult to situate just right when replacing it. I got one liner from Venezuela and one from Mexico (I presume because the glass comes from each place). trying to get all the shattered glass out of my old liner and Venezuelan is on there now (1990), but it doesn't fit quite right. |
