Avg 93 cherokee sport temp?
 

So today i was changing my 7mm plug wires to 8.5mm well long story short i moved my raidiator hose up a bit to connect the #5 wire. Unfortunatly this cracked that hose and i drove over to the farm and noticed steam/smoke coming from my grill area. Popped the hood and sure enought that hose was cracked, now it didn't overheat it was at about 230-240 right before the red. Well i took the other car picked up a hose and refilled w/coolant. Now that im watching this gauge, it still looks like its running a little high, just a pube hair off 200. Just wondering if this is normal, and if i may have damaged anything.

200 is pretty much normal i think. 200 - 210 .....

well 200 is normal if you havent flushed in awhile and wont cause you any problems... I do, however, reccommend flushing the radiator with atleast water a few times... all the erosion products in the Jeep coolant system tend to accumulate and this will break them up.... you can also use a coolant flush product, but I find the $20 or so youll spend doesnt do as good as a job and its just as easy as a continual flush with water.

I noticed you get alot of the buildup right near the cap, and again at the connection for the heater hoses, and then at the heater itself. I reccommend if you change one hose, change them all and do a thorough flush... do that at it should run a little cooler which will help you in the long run, especially if you havent done a rebuild yet, and are losing a little oil.

I've owned three jeeps they have all ran around 200, seems normal enough

sweet thanks a ton i actually haven't drove it since because i was afriad :brickwall: well ill def do a radiator flush. glad i caught it before i ruined something. Btw am i supposed to notice a diference in proformance when changing to those 8.5 mm wires and the brass tip dist. cap?
