Default Auto T shifter removal

How do you take off the shifter? i am getting a custom shifter made and i need to get the old 1 off i cant find a pin and i pulled on it. it wont budge any help would be thanked

i tryed i pulled the bttn out and i pulled up and it wont move is ther a screw or something?

step 1: lift some weights for a while
step 2: get in the jeep and get a good footing
step 3: grab onto the bottom of the shifter ****
Step 4 HEAVE!!!!...
should pop off there are definitly no screws. i just did this on my 99 last night

ps...watch you dont punch youself in the face doing this...trust me

and yea i got it thanks now i just got to pick up my new shifter at the shop it looks like this but its red with black leters and its not elec

Just a note, it really helps if your are in drive and do it, just keep your foot on the break, but the angle in drive helps alot.

I always found it easier to pull it off in neutral. Just make sure when it pops off you don't punch your self in the face. The first time I took mine off I wasn't paying attention and I looked and my fist was flying at my face.

what a simple thread turned hilarious. I discovered it came off by shifting from reverse to drive really fast trying to get out of a mud hole. It came off so drastically that I let go and threw it into the back seat by accident haha
