Sometimes I feel a little stupid when I ask questions on here.....OK real stupid. Anyway, how do I tell if I have door locks that can be locked and unlocked with a keyfob...I was just given a key when I purchased the 2000XJ. Be kind with your replys LOL.

 

dont know about the 2000, but my girlfriends 96 sport has an IR reciever right in front of the rearview mirror. Looks like a little darked colored globe...

 

X2. My '92 Laredo has one of those built into the overhead console. In the later Jeeps post 1997 the receiver may be bult into or around the mirror.

Having power door locks does not necessarily mean you have RKE. However, you did not specify if you have power locks or not.

2000 xj uses a RF signal the reciever is not visable, run your VIN and check the build sheet.
