aussie front and rear lockers?

great lockers. wouldnt use one in the front if you plan on 35s

If your planning on drive it just for off-road then I see no problem but if you want to drive in on and off road I would recomend to just put the front locker

I have Aussie Lockers front and rear in my 91 XJ. I straight love them! They were inexpensive when compared to other lockers. They were very easy to install...just follow the directions included in the box. They are ver well mannered on the road. No ratcheting or jerking associated with other lockers. You will hear clicking when you corner and the lockers unlock...as soon as you straighten out they are quiet again. Off road my Jeep is point and shoot. These lockers have never unlocked except when I need them to in a corner. They never slip, jerk, ratchet or any of that. My Aussies are in a D30 front and D44 rear. I run them with 4.56 gears and 33" mud terrain tires. My Aussies have taken me through everything from open highway multi state trips to mud, snow, clay, water, sand, gravel, rocks, logs and even slick rock on the most gnarly trails in Washington, California and Nevada. They have been in my axles for about 4 years now and I have to do zero maintenance to them and they are still going strong.

Ran them front and rear for about 3 years and loved them. I drove it on the road and other than the clicking, never noticed them. If I took off hard while turning I could chirp a tire but how often do you floor it to take off.

i have hpd30 front and 8.25 rear, i just dont see why speinding an *** ton on arb lockers it worth it right now with my budget.:thumbdown: as for the clicking, is it loud? also, i am running 35's, whats bad about lockers and 35's? sorry im a jeep newb

The clicking isn't that bad and with some good gear oil, I ran synthetic, you hardly notice it. Only time I heard it was in parking lots and mostly cause I saw people staring. Not sure why he said no on 35s unless he's talking about pushing the 30 cause locked on 35s is it's way upper limit. That said I ran 35s on mine for over a year and didn't have issues. Just don't gas it with the wheels turned.

stock carrier is junk. i broke one and blew my gears apart after putting in alloy shafts

well its not like i will be wheeling hard every day, most of the time i will just be mudding/ screwing around on local trails:yawn:

i have a aussie in the front. Its awesome! I would buy one for the rear BUT! changing out a snapped axle shaft would be a pain since its a C-clip and you would have to remove the entire guts of the locker to get to the c-clips to pull the stub out,.. the front isnt that much of a issue,.. beside, I wanna upgrade to a 8.8(which is still a c-clip) in the future.

35's on a small u-joint d30 will snap joints all day long.
not sure how well they'll hold up with the larger 297 joint d30 tho.

i've mostly snapped mine while in reverse, but also 2psi of air pressure probably didn't help either.

You will have to pull it apart without c-clips as well.
