Yes,the aussie locker has new axle gears that will be a 29 spline or which ever you buy.So all you would need is the shafts.I put an aussie in my front and it was 27 spline, but maybe they dont make a 27 for the 8.25.

You guys are both right on. Aussie Locker does not make a unit for the 27 spline Chrysler 8.25. They only make one for the 29 spline model. They realized a problem with the one they were selling for the 27 spline. A lot of people were returning them broken.

No problems reported with the 29 spline 8.25 Aussie. I can tell you from personal experience. I've beat the heck out of the Aussies in my front D30 and rear D44. These things are damn tough. You'll break an axle or carrier before that Locker will break.

And Lock Rites are good units as well. I had them F&R in my Toyota. they were just a little more expensive than the Aussies so when it came time to buy for the XJ, I got Aussies.
