Default Attaching rear bumper endcap (see pic)

Hi all,
After a long battle with my exhaust system, I ended up having to pull the rear bumper (and the endcap).

When I tried to reinstall the endcap, I am having trouble getting the endcap surface to mate flush with the body (see pic).

There are 3 ridges that are part of the body and there are 3 plastic pieces on the inside of the endcap. I just can't figure out what the trick is to get this to line all up again.

Do I have to push from the rear? Top? or is there some sort of order to move the endcap so it falls in place?

thanks

It should lift over those clamps, and press down to snap it in. Kinda dumb design

Default attaching rear bumper cap

Hi, anytime I removed mine I take out the 10 mm nut and bolt that goes through the bumper and in the front of the cap by the tire their is a 1/4 In. self threader that goes from the bottom of the cap to the body those tabs on the quarter panel hold the top of the cap in firmly against the body. You have to move the cap around till you slip the cap plastic behind the tabs on the body. ,You then can bolt in your 10 mm nut and bolt to the bumper and the self threader in the lower front bottom of the cap. Once you get it in position it will just sit their..hope this helps..

So, do you mean that I push up from the bottom to get the endcap just above those clamps, and then push down so they snap in?

Just trying to get how this fits in there.....thanks.
