Anyone try this with the steering column?
I'm working on my buddies XJ (90'). I had to replace the ignition switch (which of course required dropping the steering column down for access unless you have the arms of Gumbie.
I know the column bracket has a little left-to-right movement, but my buddies column still is too far to the left (driver's perspective). I THINK I noticed this too before I even dropped the column.
He said the column came from another Jeep, but he doesn't remember which one.
I was wondering if his was in an accident, or if other columns might have been offset?
I figured I can try and bend the bracket If I had a big mounted vise , and BFH. I don't have access to either right now (in apartment).
It's steel right? Where the studs are welded/riveted to. Sound sane?
I loosen the 15mm nuts and slide the column left and right, and I'm 1000% sure there is no more adjustment there. No clue if there is any on the bottom of the column.
Check out how it "centers" next to the 90* plastic side pieces.
Thanks guys.
