Default any suggestions?

I recently overheated my xj. I have done the following of putting block seal In it to be cautious about the head gasket. I went washed off the motor yesterday and after that it would not start it was like it. Was flooded. And again this afternoon when I started my xj I could smell gas as if its flooding itself. And I'm just pondering on what it could be. And it bogged down before at a certain mph or position on the pedal bt now it does it worse. I'm wondering if my intake gasket got cooked? And I don't know about the fuel issu just wondering also its hard to start cold or hot like cranking wise. And if I give it some gas or drive down the road it rides normal. Sometimes backfires

did you cover important electrical components, ie alt, distributer, under hood fuse box before power wash?
check for correct output at battery? plug wires?
i realize it was an overheat issue but water and electrical don't mix.
check into the obvious, cheap fixes first

If it can run good enough under its own power, try taking it for a long run on the high way to evaporate any water out of the harness.

BTW, there is no need to post the same question twice. You could of just bumped your other thread.

bogging, back fires, hard start, rough running... CPS is bad! I've messed up a CPS at the car wash before. nothing like getting in a car you just pampered to have it leave you stuck in the car wash stall lol

Sounds like you got a dieing CPS and water issues. Hopefully the Block seal wont cause more overheating, stuf has a was of plugging things up that you dont want plugged up. next time you are worrier about the head gasket, change the gasket. Never use block sealer, except as a way of sealing it up enough so you can get home to fix the problem.

You have water in the distributor cap...Don't wash your engine.
