Any info on replacing rear glass with zip in plastic.
Hi all - I sure do see a lot of the newer 4-door Jeeps running around town. I really like how their rear windows are soft top/plastic windows. Really got me thinking about how to do this on my XJ.
I was thinking about removing the rear windows and then doing some sort of velcro-in clear plastic window material. Before I get too far - anybody do this before ? Thanks - |
Easy access for thievin' scum.
Don't do it. |

Thanks - i think you can aslong as you reinforce the rear hatch. i went through tech school and i learned about windows alittle bit.. but then again.. doors are supposed to be to and people take those off.. once again i have no idea.. just throwin down a thought.. might wana wait till someone with more experience can tell you. |
The doors are not structural, neither is the rear glass.
This is a common misconception regarding XJ's. [/Hijack] |

BUT! U know doors and windows are structural on other vehicles like single cab pickups. So could be the source of the misconception. |
