Alternator Bracket

My son has a 1986 2.5 L XJ. His alternator bracket is broken ... I can not find one. Will the bracket off of a 4.0 liter or 2.8 liter work? Any help is appreciated.

No they wont work Does your have a serp belt or v belt as orentation is different. Lastly can yours be welded to repair it ?? let me know

It is a serpentine belt. It is broken in the middle of the adjuster and would be difficult to weld.

Does anyone have a source ...? Local wrecking yards have nothing?
