alignment ????
Heres the question, my buddy is going to help me out by letting me use his garage, tools, and experience to lift my jeep. The only problems is it is 65 miles away. will it be a problem if i out the 3 in. RC lift on and drive it 65 miles home, before getting an alignment.

Are you removing any of the steering components such as the tie rod and drag link? I would think not for a lift so you should be ok. Now you may relocate the trackbar at the axle but you should still be ok. I would how ever get an alignment after you do the lift.

are you gonna put your new tires on it and drive it home? if so, those 65 miles probly wont be good for your tires. you could always do it yourself since you'll already be in the garage.

when you do the lift, it usually shifts the axle slightly, thats why people get new tracbars, to re-center the axle. then you can align it.

when you lift the front suspension on a jeep, the stupid inverted Y steering setup will toe in the more you lift.
so, yeah. you will need an alignment. you'll notice it bigtime.
my buddy did that and there was rubber all down the side of his jeep when he got home. mickey thompson baja claws were worn right down.
do a DIY alignment. it's not hard and may save ya from death wobble on the way home.

A DIY alignment only takes a few minutes and a few wrenches and tape measure. It's an easy job bud.
If doing the lift at your buds will make the lift job easier 9experienced help) you'll still be ahead of the game with a quickie alignment. Then get it done professionally when you get it home.
Measure, set the toe in about 1/16 to 1/8 inch for a 231 transfer or dead straight for a 242 transfer.
