Default Anyone done any clear coat touch up?

Has anyone out there done any simple clear coat touching up on their XJ's?
with just like clear spray paint and some light sanding?

Any tips on doing it so it looks somewhat pro?
or any advice on how to sand those white splotchy area that appear, but not sand into the paint much?
Etc.

I've messed up my clear coat by trying to do it by hand. So no, I have no suggestions on how to do it correctly.

A buffer and some rubbing compound.

Only real fix is strip and re-coat. You can sand and apply as much clear as you want but the damage is done, it will continue to peel. If you have any areas intact you want to preserve keep those covered in a good coat of quality wax or sealant. Once the clear finish perforates it's history.

Alright thanks for your replies. I guess I'm just gonna do the sanding/spray paint route with that buffing and rubbing compound idea first. My jeep is red and always outside, so either way this clear coat is going to go (it's already gone in some spots), or the one I have will go, but maybe I can save it for a few more years...and I wax it once a year; but again being red in the sun all day it's just not going to do much as far as wax 21 years into the paints life.
