Airbag disable?

Does anyone know of an Airbag defeat modification that can be made to the 97+ XJ to disable the passenger side airbag?

I looked at disabling both airbags on my 97 for wheeling. All I could see was to remove the fuses that power activate the bags. Haven't pursued it since, so I'd like to see if someone has another solution. I was thinking of installing a manual switch to interrupt the power to the iar bags while off road.

from what I know about airbags and how the system works, when removing an airbag you must put in a resistor to keep the computer from logging an error code. I believe in newer model vehicles that have a switch on the dash, it does just that. Interrupts the wires going to the airbag and puts a resistor arcoss it to keep the system working properly.

I'm trying to repeclipate that so that i can put my son's car seat up front with me.

No one has done this? I too am curious. Would also like to know if anyone has put an aftermarket steering wheel on a 97 + cherokee. Have searched and not found any solid advice. Thanks in advance.
