Air Con Noise

Air Con Noise
Hi there, I have just discovered a new noise on my '94 cherokee, it's coming from the a/c compressor, not the usual squeal etc. A plate directly infront of the pulley seems to move freely, it sticks sometimes and then it moves . when the motor is off you can move it with your hand easily in any direction, it doesn't seem to be attached to any thing. Any ideas?

Mine is doing the same, I'm just going to let it go for a while I hardly ever use the a/c, I enjoy having the windows down.
