aftermarket ignition switch?
 

Anyone ever tried installing an aftermarket ignition switch? My ignition cylinder (and whole steering column) were trashed by the previous owner. I bought it with no keys and would like to install a $10 ignition switch from O'Reilly's. Any ideas? Could I just clip all of the wires at the base of the steering column that run up to the ignition switch and then connect them to the aftermarket ignition switch? any help is greatly appreciated!
