Adding on to current lifted suspension...
So I got a 4.5 lift on my xj. I dont know the brand cuz it came with the jeep. It has bigger coils up front and it looks like an aftermarket leaf spring with two inch blocks or spacers under the leaf springs in the back. What I want to do is go bigger. Could I purchase a 5.5 inch front coils and then some 4.5 inch leaf springs and add them on top of the blocks already on the jeep. If needed I could level the front with some coil spacers. Do people do this? Also would I have to get drop brackets for the control arms and get a SYE? It would be nice to just get the coils and leaf springs to lift it more and be done but I've found out that easy doesnt always work... Thanks for the input.

You could do this. You would need the drop brackets though, make sure your track bar will allow that much travel. Check your brake lines also, you may need longer ones. Congratulations, you are at least trying to do it right. Stay away from shackles, they will eventually ruin your rear springs. I wouldn't try going any higher than what you are doing without factoring in a high steer also.
