Acetone in gas
Well I used to put seafoam in my tanks every other fill up and I would get on average. I don't know why but the $4 bottle of seafoam went to $8.50. I was told that the main ingredient in most engine additives is acetone. Would adding a couple of ounces of acetone to a tank of gas help clean and burn fuel better like seafoam? I'm pretty sure it won't help gas mileage. Or is it just another snake oil?
Will it mess with gaskets and seals? Or should I just use the acetone and mix(50/50) it with ATF for a rust penetrator? |
not sure why but the 5.99 bottle did go to 8.50 at wally mart...probably had a spike in sales in the last year with all the threads on all the different automotive forums...lol...Maxima, BMW, Mustang, HERE...everyone!
