Default AC Lines - Reconnect

ok well we changed the heater coil which required removing the AC lines... bought the tool to remove it, but now were trying to put it back on and it will not go back together...... the tool either will not open the spring on the inside or will not fit over the high point of the other tube, what to do?

I didn't think u used the tool to re-connect.....just make sure new o-rings (lubed) are in place, slide the connections together and re-attach the retaining clips.

They should just push back together.
Like djb383 said. "just make sure new o-rings (lubed) are in place, slide the connections together and re-attach the retaining clips."

Bumping an old thread as I'm having the same issue. I can't get the connection to lock in place on the hard line that runs to the front of the Jeep. I replaced the spring also, thinking that it might be the culprit but no luck.

FWIW, the a/c line is OEM and the new evaporator condesor is Four Seasons.

Got it. An open end wrench placed just behind the fitting and a tap with a ball peen hammer did the trick.
