AC and Heat intermittenly not working
Hello all and thanks for the help ahead of time.
I have a 95 Cherokee Sport 4.0l. My AC and Heat quits working at random times. I will hit a bump while off-roading and it will come back on. Then another bump and there it goes. Off again. Everything just quits working. I've replaced the resistor which helped with the high low issue in the past. I tried a new blower motor, didn't help. I cut off the old wiring behind the AC Control unit and put in connector with new wires. It was in fact melted. No help though. It's been two long years of this and now I have a kid that will be riding along this winter. I don't know enough about AC and electrical to find this on my own. Any ideas will help. I don't mind spending money on parts, I work for a parts distributor. Thanks for reading! |
Anyone??

What do you mean your AC and Heat quits working at random times.
Can you describe this a little better. |

I can't tell if the heat and AC temps change at all to know if it just the blower. I replaced the blower motor and it didn't solve the issue. When it does work, the heat is hot and the AC is cold. I just can't get it to stay on. |
do you have your vac. canister hooked up or at least plugged? if you don't, this can make the a/c or heat only blow thru the defrost when you're at high rpm

I've had a similar problem with my '00 and recently discovered if my key is bumped just a hair out of the run position it will shut off the blower fan. It's probably time for a n ew ignition switch or something.
