AC compressor on a '95
1 Attachment(s)
Okay, so I have a '95 postal cherokee with no AC, and a pregnant wife.
I can't find a new AC compressor anywhere. I thought I had found one, but as you can see from the attached pic, it's not correct. Mine is the one on the left. Note that both hoses attach with a single bolt? The one on the right, the hoses screw in like most other AC compressors. Anyine got one for sale, or know where I can get one? The dealer says it's an "antique part" and they have a few thousand available for $1800 each. And no, that's not a typo. If not, can I just pull the back plate and swap it out with the new compressor and if so, where do I get the crush gasket for it? Thanks for the help! If you can't be good, be good at it! |
Have new hoses made up that will fit the new compressor fittings on the back plate.
Take your old ones in so they can match up length and the other end's fittings. After 16 years, you will be money ahead on the hoses. Make sure they use the rubber for R134-A. |
Where would I go to have that done?

There's going to be somebody in a town the size of Richmond who can make up hoses. Places that specialize in auto A/C work.
Check with a local parts store. I'll bet somebody there can refer you. Also check the Yellow pages, maybe under hoses or hydraulic hose? |
Google, its your Free-end.........
