ABS question

ABS isn't working, can the CPS or P1694 cause that?

Jeepin'_Aint_EZ 11-04-2016 01:01 PM

Most likely a speed sensor went bad but if you can get the ABS system scanned it should give you a good clue where to start.

Those two codes are not ABS related and will not cause the ABS to stop functioning.

ABS reader can't make connection.

Well I'd start with looking for obvious things like broken wires or connectors. Check the tone rings on the axle shafts and make sure they're not broken. You could jack the front end up and use a multimeter to check and see if the speed sensors are still working by disconnecting the sensor connector, probe the connector, set your meter to measure AC voltage, and spin the tire. It should generate and show current on your meter.

Get rid of the ABS, that's what I did and I love it!
