Default about to set jeep on fire..... help please

Alright guys/gals i just did a head gasket on my cherokee. It wont start now.. I did everything to spec checked the head for warpage, im at a loss i dont know what to check next. This is what ive found out i have spark, i have fuel to my rail and my injectors are squirting fuel, I pulled number one plug went tdc and made sure my distributor was pointing to number 1 on the cap. Ive checked all vacuum lines, all electrical is plugged in and i undid the battery for a couple hours. what can it possibly be? my only thing i can think of is my rockers not being torqued how they should be, i started at 1 went tdc tightened to 21ft lbs then went tdc did same and so on for the rest. Need help would really like to go play in the woods.

How did you verify spark? It just cranks or does it give a few pops and quits, does it back fire.

I took a plug out and turned it over while a buddy held the plug on a bolt. Also its weird some times it will sound like it wants to fire but other times it will just keep cranking over.

CPS sensor? Maybe it got bumped around enough during the gasket replacement that it doesn't work anymore.

Recheck your timing one last time. Your spark plugs are covered in gas after these cranking attempts?

Yeah when I pull them there pretty wet. I'll check timing again in the morning.

That's the only thing I can think of. But from what I read it said I wouldn't have spark if that went bad.

I've moved a stock cps to increase the timing, it takes some force. If the ECU does not see the CPS it would not have spark. Just for fun while you are at it check every fuse. In cab and under hood.

I checked them all earlier today I had a couple fuses that where shot changed them and it didn't have any affect. And my plug wires are in the right order I checked a couple times. The dash isn't showing any check engine light

Did you determine why "a couple of fuses were shot"?

All my fuse covers on the interior are gone don't really know where they went. It was one on the interior box on the passenger side one in the engine bay. The Haynes manual I have I couldn't find a diagram for them. Changed them and they hold. One thing I did forget to do when I swaped the head gasket I didn't disconnect my battery so I figured resetting the ecu would fix that.

I'll have to get that and read through it. I just want this thing to run again having jeep withdrawals. Bored with driving my stock grandcherokee around.

Well where we are at just to run down the list. You have air...it cranks over.... unless you didn't plug in the IAC. You have fuel ...plugs are wet. You say you have spark... Cause ya saw it. Compression, let's assume you do. Now you need spark at the right time. You will check that in the morning. You did plug in the IAC right? Heck jump in crack the throttle open slightly and crank it. Recheck all your fuses again try to remember which ones where blown, find the ones that are probably blown again and learn what they are. buy the fsm. You will probably use it more than once anyways. That's all I got for now.
