About to do tranny cooler?
Hey guys i am about to do a tranny cooler on my 91 xj. I have a question on my radiator in the 91 what line is the return and the feed line? Also i assume its best to run the cooler in line with the rad right? Or is it best to run it by itself, I live in NY so it get cold here.

The Topmost line is Feed and the lower is return.
I got a massive Oil cooler out of a 90 Ford F250 Bar and Fin. Im going to give it a try. I am completly doing away with my In radiator cooler......

i ran a big *** intercooler on mine. i think its a 6 row or something. its like 14" long and 8" tall and i still run it through my radiator. runs great, brought the tranny temp way down, shifts smooth as butter now.

before, right behind grill in front of rad. jus removed the stock intercooler and used the tabs to mount the new one. and dunno what the before n after temps are, just know it shifts alot better since i put it on.

oh ok. so i could basicaly jus use a t fitting anywhere on the Tranny line with the sensor on it and itd work. so what would be the best way to do that for oil temp? drill a hole in the pan and install the sensor there?

In my experience you want put the temp sensor on the return to the trans. to see what the temp going to the trans is. Also dont forget to check the fluid level and add as needed when adding the cooler so many people forget to do that.

fits perfect, even used the existing mounting tabs for the stock intercooler.
