AAL lifespan within a leaf pack
ive been contemplating building either a bastard pack, or grabbing an AAL and inserting the leaf into a spare leaf pack that im thinking of re-arching. im just wondering if the lifespan of the AAL will be prolonged by doing so. i thought by inserting it in a re-arched pack, you would give it alittle more support and maybe extend the life of it?

Never heard anybody run a re-arched spring with aal but I have heard several times that a bastard pack is better than aal because the springs are more resilient and have less tendancy to sag. I am also under the impression that re-arched springs do not have a very good life expectancy because they have to be reheated to do so and it tends to make the metal weaker in the process. I am very seriously considering bastard pack myself. I can't remember where I have seen it but there is a lot of good info out there on which springs to use and how from other guys that have done the buildup
