This is possible... But when you start to notice that something ain't right then its the time to replace it...

_StationWagon_ Oct 20, 2010 07:25 PM

What type of symptoms are there?

mcssls Oct 20, 2010 07:35 PM

I'm at 5" and putting one on, no symptoms but I did new TREs and a couple do sit at an almost locked limit d/t the angles so a drop pitman will improve that.

I'm all for the if it ain't broke don't fix it thing...but if ur particular like me...the 60 bucks for the drop pitman arm on our oh so fantastic inverted y steering setup is worth the piece of mind to me!

bump steer i think, not sure, someone chime in here!!!

_StationWagon_ Oct 25, 2010 08:16 AM

I don't have bump steer, my XJ runs & steers pretty well, but I expect it to because I have a Durango steering box & Currie steering ... with a stock pitman arm.

I guess no-one knows what symptoms determine when you need a new drop pitman arm. My XJ feels kind of floatie, but I attribute that to having drop brackets. It rides so smooth, I get worried, LOL.
