99 xj running like crap

My jeep recently started running ****ty, it idles fine but when i start driving the throttle is jumpy and it starts backfiring. have already replaced throttle position sensor and manifold absolute pressure sensor. the codes that popped up are 02 sensor 1 and 2 high voltage but the sensors are brand new, any ideas?

What does the wiring to the sensors look like? Damage anywhere, abraded wiring, etc?
What are the exact codes you are getting?

P0340 is no cam signal. Camshaft position sensor circuit is suspect here.

P0122 is throttle position sensor circuit low input.

If you had the EXACT same symptoms before and after replacing the throttle position sensor, you may want to start by replacing the cam sensor, located inside of the distributor. Inspect wiring for it, clean connector with electrical contact cleaner, add a little dielectric grease and reconnect.

I'm still concerned though about that P0122 though as your symptoms sound more like TPS than cam sensor. Where did you buy your TPS? It is not that unusual to get a crap engine management sensor from many parts stores.

I wound up getting my Cam Position Sensor from the dealer. It was almost the same price as the auto store. It has been my experience that some things are better off going with OEM. It is easy to replace. Just remove your distributor cap and it is right there. Real easy.

That can be either a cam or a crank sensor.

Your codes are all over the board. I'd try freshening your grounds just to be sure as they can create gremlins.
