99 XJ do I need adjustable ball joints?
So my tires in the front are wearing unevenly. I went in for an alignment, hoping it was as easy fix, and it turns out the bearing on the passenger side is done and the ball joints on the drivers side need to be replaced.
So I am going to tackle the ball joints, bearings, and maybe the axle u-joint.
I was wondering if I need the adjustable ball joints? Just the regular ball joints? Why would I need adjustable ball joints?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Also since I have a 99 XJ the hub assembly could be one of 2. Is there a way I could can tell which one I need without taking anything apart?
I eaither need Timken 513084 or HA597449.

Anyway, you don't need adjustable ones. **** moog, they suck. Buy a set of spicers.
For the hub, they are noticeably different sizes. Buy both, return the one you don't need.

Fixed my questions sorry.
Yes they are known as offset as well.
I don't know if I need them that's why I was asking. My mechanic said that I might need the offset/adjustable, to be able to adjust the front end in the alignment. He said that he could not tell me unless I was hooked up to the alignment machine and that the machine could tell me how many degrees I was off.
I really do not know anything about ball joints, or the hub assembly. That's why I am going to do this myself. So I thought that I would ask around about the offset/adjustable ball joints. I want to get what I need.
I have a Rough Country 3" lift on 33" tires. Maybe that's why I might need the offset/adjustable?
Sorry for the newb questions I am trying to learn about it.

So i was reading and since I have a straight front axle the only way I would need offset/adj is if I have a bent axle or diff. Is there any other reason?
