Default 99 and newer intake

Ok Im working on my 95 Xj. I have read most of the threads about this upgrade and its sounds relatively straight foward and easy with a little time. My questions is, is it worth upgrading this 95 intake to the newer style? The 4.0 in the 95 is stock but I have the neon injectors to that upgrade. I was going to do both at the same time if its a worthy upgrade to the 99 + intake. I would like to hear the forums feedback. Thanks

By itself, it wont do much. Swapping intakes without digging into the engine is poinltess, imo.

If you get the 62 mm throttle body along with the neon injectors then switching to the later model head may make more of a difference. I am getting ready to do the 12 hole injectors, 62mm throttle body, 2000 intake manifold, headers, 2.5" exhaust and a cowl intake on mine so I hope to see an improvement.

I thought the later modal heads like on the 00 and 01 where bad heads. What year XJ have the best heads?

That was intake manifold, not the head. But yes, the 00-01 head (0331) are known for cracking. Dont worry about it. The older XJ used the 0630.

that may be, but I already had the 2000 intake manifold and I have to take it all apart anyway to replace the exhaust manifold so I figured why not.
