99 Cherokee Evaporator repair
Hey Guys/Girls,
I am going to do this repair this weekend. I saw a couple of threads where a PDF was being giving out with instructions on how to perform this repair. If anyone would be willing to share it with me I would be very greatful.

Youll need to pull the dash. I did this a few weeks back and if you take your time, bag your screws and label them, write on a piece of paper what you did 1st, 2nd, 3rd., etc., youll be OK. Youll need to remove a number of dash parts, take off the two nuts to drop your column and the tilt spring if youve got one. There are only a few things to disconnect behind the dash, along with 5 or 6 nuts under the hood that holld the heater box in. Your AC will need to be evacuated at a LICENSED shop (you cant just expel it into the air, its 100% illegal and dangerous). Youll need to pull your two AC lines (with the special disconnect tool) and heater core lines (get a cool whip dish to catch the coolant). Your box will come right out and its straight forward from there.
Realistically, expect to spend a whole day (8-10) hours on it if everything goes to plan. LABEL, LABEL, LABEL and write a list in order as you go and it will be MUCH easier. Youll end up pulling the dash up against the blinkers & washer levers tight, then swing the passenger side into the passenger seat. I used a bungee cord to string it to the grab bar over the door and get in to remove the heater box.
A lot of work, not very technical, just lots of stuff to take apart and keep track of.
And when youre done, make sure to tighten all the dash bolts to ground it before reconnecting the battery and trying everything or your wiring will act up.
