^^ well could you imagine having the back end of your truck under the mud and trying to line the strap up with the pin and holes

That is basically what I do with my wifes... I like having the option of multiple pull points. Also not everyone has a front receiver hitch. And if you/someone already had something in their receiver (rack, winch, etc) they would have to remove it to insert the strap and what if they were trying to recover themselfs and needed to connect thier own winch cable to thier vehicle?...
If it works for you great... it is one less thing you have to spend money on.

A D ring is not the easy ether but I guess would be a little less hard to reach
I usually have my strap hoked up if I'm out mudding

that's how i've done mine for 5 years. never bent a pin, and i've done some crazy tugs.
i now have a warn d reciever, only cause i wanted to support a good guys shop when i went in to get a 15 dollar bushing.
yeah, a problem if you want to winch to the rear of your jeep. but i've never had to myself.

why dont you just do what you want to do, and let everyone do what they want to do? not saying its a bad idea, but i personally think its dumb.. looks bad, and i always have a ball in my hitch, i like d rings.. someone likes what they like, let em..

we aint bashing him but it can be unsafe cause you could fray the strap bad enough that it snaps and might hit someone, thats all im saying but i agree to atleast have a ball or something that you can hook to that wont fray the strap potentially. as far as im concerned there is not a high enough price on saftey. granted there are ways to do it cheaper but saftey saftey saftey there would be nothing worse than someone gettin hurt cause you got stuck and didnt hook up the strap properly

in fact I like D rings that are integrated into the frame or after market bumper
to me most don't even know why they need a D ring and don't know that just cus you have A D ring doesn't mean you have a good one
