I'm chasing a ghost on my xj. I have an intermittent no bus light as well as a very day intermittent sputter. So far I've changed the plugs and plug wires and the sputter is still there. As for the no bus light, I've disconnected the cluster and cleaned all connections as well as the connections at the pcm. The jeep will stay running with the no bus light on but I lose all of my gauges, most of the time I can get them back by hitting my wiper fluid switch

Clean all the ground wires too.

The last guy with a "no bus" condition had driven a screw through his airbag module. You haven't put any random screws in you center console lately, have you?

I'll check out my grounds for sure, no I haven't put any screws in the console but I've only had this jeep for a year and it's had this no bus problem the whole time.
