98 sport no fuel no spark no gauges
well guys i am new to the Jeep world but drove a buddy's and liked it. i bought one from a dealer sale that won't start. it has no power to the coil,no fuel pressure, the volt gauge and fuel gauge doesn't seek to work either. it has a new crank position sensor(i will check it tommorow though). looks like it has had several sensors replced(oil pressue, coolant temp) i am leaning toward a computer.any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't state the year. But you should also check the fusible links if you have them located on the starter relay. When multiple systems go out, these are the first things to check.

If you have no guages, no fuel , no spark it sounds like you have either a "bus communication" issue (this means the PCM is not "Talking" to the other components TCM, CCN (cluster). Or you have a 5v sensor reference wire shorted to ground, this will shut the pcm down. Or you could have lost a power or ground circut to the PCM.
I would start by verifying the powers and grounds to the pcm.
If this doesn't work start unplugging your sensors one by one.....

No gauges indicate the P.C.M. does not believe your car is there. Most likely a sensor is dead shorted.Unplug them one at time until the fuel gauge and voltmeter read. The sensor that is unplugged at that time is most likely the culprit. This happened to me (the digital odometer read nobuS) I had it taken to a shop out of desperation and that is what the mechanic eventualy found out. My dead sensor was the crankshaft position sensor . Yours may be the same thing or the camshaft position sensor or who knows.(do not assume new equals good. as the Car Doctor says NEW = Never Ever Works. Good Luck.
