98 fuel pump

alright so i ordered my fuel pump from advanced auto parts its a bosch. from the looks of it i dont think its the right one. at the bottom the filter is sticking out instead of being just on the bottom if you know what im saying but on advanced its saying its a exact fit on my 98. is it the right pump? part #69316

Jeepability 08-19-2011 12:00 AM

rockaudio is showing the same pump as the fit

the filter clips onto the pump. Your filter should work just fine. even if its different the sock filter wont change the operation any...

amazon.com also says it will fit a 98 cherokee :thumbup1:

yeah, its open at the bottom to allow it to suck from the lowest point in the tank.

you can see the white sock that is squar at the bottom of this pump just like yours will be...

For what it's worth, on my 90, I didn't need to drop the tank. The book said to but the pump/gauge is accessible from the front. Don.

mine is a 98 the hole is on the top not the side so it has to come down

Good news/bad news. Like your wife telling you your "equipment", works better than any of your friends. You gotta drop the tank, but you don't need to do it with 1/4 tank. :icon_confused:

this is a refrence pic. not your actual pump. just one i could find online to show you how it sticks out. just look at it before you remove it, then reassemble the same way
