I went out to fire my jeep up this morning and it cranks but wont fire. All fuses checked ok. No codes Present!

So next was to check the CPS...I was told based on a few Write ups that for my 98. I need to OHMS test terminal B&C on the CPS Plug (with it disconnected) and should have a OPEN circuit.

When i set my Meter to the Auto OHMS setting it is not showing a Open circuit but is showing resistance of .600ish..

So i wanted to double check with you guys who have done these before to make sure i did it right...before i drop 130$ at the dealer for one.

I had a similar reading when mine was shot. I changed it out and I got spark. For the CPS to function properly there should be zero resistance. Also, don't drop $130 at the dealer. They're are less than half the price at Pepboys http://www.pepboys.com/catalog/partr...3:+6-242++4.0L . I did mine in the freezing cold, laying down in the snow and it took less than an hour while trying different methods. After I finally manned up and just took it out from the bottom laying in the snow, it was done in half an hour. You need a whole bunch of extensions and a universal. Crawl under there and snake it up to the bolts and then attach the ratchet to the extensions. Have a buddy hold the socket on the bolt while you turn the ratchet. That method was golden for me.

ya i got it all done..she alive again........Mopar wanted 130 and it had a 1 year warranty.
Advance wanted 80 with the same warranty....so i got that one.

Yup, wasn't that bad, now was it? At least she runs again and it probably won't need replacement ever again...hopefully.
