98 cherokee airbag light on- plug?
I have a 98 Cherokee with airbag light on. Horn works so I don't think its the clock spring however I'm starting the process of tracing connections to see if one is loose or unplugged. I saw this plug hanging from behind the bumper and nothing to plug too.....thinking maybe its factory for fog lights....but wanted to ask if anyone knew what it goes too..... airbag????
(For some reason my phone won't upload the pics at the moment, pics to follow)

It's the plug hanging in the center of the picture, for some reason my other picture showing the terminals won't upload...but it's basically a 2-prong female plug w/ a water resistant boot around it.
Searching this board, I did ran across threads that talk about 97-01 XJ all got the same wiring harness regardless of trim level so now i'm suspecting this is just a termination of the harness on my "SPORT" that maybe a Classic or Limited had an option to plug into. But just wanted to rule it out if someone knew specially what the plug would go to.
On that note, does anyone know where the "sensors" are located for the airbags on 97-01 XJ's???
Thanks guys in advance!!

10-4, appreciate ya'lls help!!
I remember on my 96XJ I just pulled the airbag relay (if i'm remembering correctly) under the hood to disable the airbags for when I went wheeling.
Is anyone doing something similar to the 97-01's so the bags don't deploy if i'm playing tag with a rock?

Are your tachometer and other gauges (if you have full gauges, that is) working? The electrical connector behind the gauge cluster tends to vibrate loose on the '97+ Cherokees. When it does, all gauges go dead, and the airbag light comes on. If that's the case, try pressing firmly on the center of the dash, right behind the steering wheel. Just push it straight forward -- on my '98, that usually clears the problem right up -- for at least several months, then I have to do it again. No big deal.
