Default 97 manual to 2000 auto swap

I'm looking to buy a 97 2 door ax-15, 2wd. But i hate driving stick. Was wondering if a 2000 aw4 2wd will swap into the 97. I have the whole 2000 parts jeep. Just wondering exactly what i will need to swap over.

It should swap, but not maybe as easily as you'd like. You may find yourself pulling wiring and the computer from the donor to make it work. What's wrong with the auto? (In other words - bad engine or body damage?) It might be easier to replace the engine in the auto if it's just a bad engine.

If you do the swap, I'd be interested in the spacer plate from the AX15 (the one between the flywheel and engine).
