~ 97+ cluster needle restoration and LED questions ~

Hi all,
I have an 01' with faded needles, they are pretty much white.
From what I can tell, the needles are clear and the paint is on the bottom.
That said, are the needles removable and what's the recommended way to restore?
Id love to make them blue :D

As for the LEDs
What are ppl doing to modify the cluster so it can change colors?
My bulbs already have blue tint and still shine green through the gauges.
So clearly just adding blue LEDs wont result in a blue lit cluster.

The needles are lit from the clear part, so you can use any paint you want

Sand the back to get the factory white paint, and use whatever color you want. Nail polish is pretty common but that gauge paint looks good too (or model paint maybe)

I would not paint them then.

Have you taken needles off without issue?
I hear some ppl had major problems with calibration after removal.
