Default 97 cherokee starting when cold

Where should I start to look? I have a 97 Cherokee that when it gets cold it will not crank over with the key. I replaced the starter/solenoid first but with no change. If I turn the key on and cross over on the solenoid it will start right up and sometimes after it has ran for hour or so it will then start using the key. but next morning if it's cold the same thing happens. It doesn't act like a short because there is no dimming of the lights or anything like that. Usually if it's over the freezing point it's fine. Has never done it when it's warm out. I'm hoping for a quick and easy fix, if not I'm just going to wire up a starter button. Safety switch somewhere? thanks for any ideas

Below freezing cold or just cold? Because I am thinking of condensation or water somewhere it should not be, in a relay possibly?

I'm not an electrical genius by any standards, I will see if I can locate the relays under the hood and use some contact cleaner on them and maybe that will help? Could it be that the relay itself is taking on moisture and not the connection? Thanks for the advice.
