I had this happen to me on my new rig too.
try this. do they only stay on if you turn the ignition off and THEN turn the lights out? if they do, wait a minute or too and see if they go out on their own.
I always assumed "courtesy lights" were the lights down in the footwell, so when i read them on my build sheet it didn't click until i realized that isn't what they are.
If they don't shut off after a minute or so, then you might have an issue of some sort.
Welcome to the forum, as well.

Don't know about the later models but, my RENIX XJ headlights would stay on if I turned off the ignition before turning off the headlights. They are supposed to shut off after about a minute but, mine would just stay on so, I always had to remember to shut off the headlights first, then the ignition.
