For those '97-'01 XJ owners interested in replacing their Parking Brake Cable Tensioner, I've added a pic that shows the parts you need. Dealer parts.

They are Mopar parts but you can buy the tensioner on ebay. The equalizer must come from the dealer (or online Mopar parts stores). Ebay doesn't list them.

Mine are SO RUSTY, I am pretty sure the only way that assembly is coming out is with a cutoff grinder.
I have been meaning to get a better looking one from the JY, clean it up and paint everything but haven't gotten around to it. Inevitably during the winter, it will fill up with slush and freeze into a solid block overnight, locking my E-Brake in place. I keep a hammer in the Jeep for those situations

I used a Demel cutoff wheel to get mine off. Release the parking brake and cut the bugger off (at the spot shown in my pic)
.
No need for junk yard crap. Just buy one from Big David or the dealer. Your equalizer may be salvageable by removing the rust and painting it. If it's too far gone get one from the dealer.
Are those XJ or TJ adjusters? The equalizers look kind of wide (like a TJ). Maybe it's just the picture...
The XJ equalizer measures 1-15/16" wide. What are yours?
You should verify that your equalizers are the same as the XJ before selling them as such.
Take a look at the equalizer my pic. Note that the edges are square not rounded like yours.

I finally got to double check on a 99 XJ & in fact mine are twice as wide. I guess I got my 89 & 98 XJs confused.
