97-01 odometer not displaying miles.
Hi, I have an 01 sport and after replacing the chip that stores the miles for the odometer it now only reads 98 miles and resets back to 98 every time I turn off the car. Does anyone know how to fix this, without getting a new gauge cluster but actually fixing the circutboard? Thank you for helping!

So did the mileage read correctly before the chip replacement ?? Why was there a need for the chip replacement ?? What procedure did you follow for replacement that would install the correct miles with a "new" chip?? It sounds more like a code for mileage circuit tampering than an actual mileage count IMO...What I'm getting at is....From what I've read the ECU and cluster need to be synced with the correct mileage for it to work...In other words a dealership item so the masses can't simply change their mileage by a chip replacement...

I recently got a fleet package odometer (the ones that go to 120mph instead of 100mph) and I was swapping the odometer chips from my original cluster to the fleet version. I saw someone on youtube do it and it worked.
