Default 96 xj replaced cps wont start unless jumped

96 xj, burns out cps frequently. replace cps, still stumbling and throwing code p1391 code, so i replaced the cam shaft sensor/stator. Battery acted like it was dead, although when I jump it, it started up. However, it won't idle, but runs strong when revved up. Put in a known strong battery, still won't start unless jumped and won't idle. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

^^X2, could be a bad alternator (generator).

I'll check the battery voltage and test the alternator tomorrow. If the batter voltage is too low, and I know the battery is a good, what might that indicate?

Try taking the battery to autozone and have them check it. it sounds like to me u have a bad cell.

if the battery goes dead overnight? An excessive parasitic load, you'll need to use your voltmeter to check that out.
