My 96 XJ with an AW4 is hard to shift out of park. I recently had the whole interior apart (see picture) and I feel like I messed something up while I was putting everything together. Maybe I just need a new "release button" (the t handle)

No pic.

Does it only shift hard out of Park, or out of any position?
Adjusted anything?

oh sorry, I forgot the picture, I will add it. But it seems like the locking button isn't doing it's job of pulling up that cable off if the "track" for the gearshift. Under the bezel, it's a metal "tab" on a "track" with notches for where the different gears are. If I pull of the bezel and pull on the cable manually, it's all good.

Ok I fixed it this morning, I just pulled off the t handle, punching myself in the nose in the process (happens every time I take it off...) and took out the plastic linkage rod and then put it back. It's great now, I guess it wasn't "seated properly or something.
