96 Trans problems
So I bought my first jeep, it is a 96 Cherokee, automatic 4.0L, 4x4. It was one that has been sitting for almost a year. I had to replace the crankshaft position sensor, cap, wires, plugs and camshaft sensor to get it running. No I only have the codes for a bad o2 sensor. The PO told me there was a problem with the trans when I bought it, it would shift, but could be shifted manually. So before I even brought it home I order solenoids for it. I drove it before I replaced them, and could shift it. But now after replacing them, it is stuck in first gear. I have looked at some of CCKen's posts but all that I am finding are the ones for a 98+. Is there a way to check the solenoids without having to drop the pan again? Maybe I didn't hook one up correctly and get a good contact. Also, is the TCM separate from the ECU? I have seen some posts but I think they are 98+ where it is in the ECU.

I figured I will put in what resolved the problem in case anyone stumbles on this. It turned out to be the TPS. I drop the pan again and checked on the OHMs on the solenoids to make sure they were good and then started swapping other stuff. But the fix was the throttle position sensor.
