96 tranny rebuild

96 tranny rebuild
I'm Pretty sure my tranny is shot, so I'm gonna rebuild it. What kind of kit should I get? And this is kinda a newbie question, but does the trtanfer case use the same transmission fluid as the tranny? Would I have to rebuild both if I do one?
