96 Acceleration Issue
This is an odd one. Works fine most of the day, then after a few hours of driving I notice that normal acceleration feels like you're letting off of the pedal for a split second then depressing again. Slow acceleration is difficult to notice the issue but with rapid acceleration it immediately stops accelerating but tries again only to stop again and so on.
Now here's the odd part, shutting it off for just a couple of minutes clears it right up. I don't know if it would clear up if I just shut down & then start right back up, I'll try that tomorrow.
By the way, this is a mail delivery vehicle, so lots of stop & go.

I can't say whether this is the issue with yours, but mine (96) started doing something similar two weeks ago, felt like someone turned the key off momentarily, then right back on. Either the CPS or TPS fixed it, I just changed them both since they were both still the OEM's from '96.

Sounds like fuel filter getting restricted under load.
Shut it down all the junk falls off the paper element and frees up fuel flow till next run.

Wasn't the fuel filter.
Again, it starts after about 2.5 hours & gets noticeably worse while driving. Shutting it down for a minute fixes it, but of course it's not really fixed if it happens every day.

before you start throwing parts at it, check out my thread. I'm having the same issue...

page 2 has a list of parts that were already replaced with no change

The issue continues, but today it finally threw a code, 51. It seems odd to me that I noticed the problem the day after I installed a new fuel pump & coil.
On top of the fuel tank are 2 hoses & 2 valves (also replaced). If those hoses are pinched between the tank & the body, could that be the problem?
