96 to 99 engine question

Default 96 to 99 engine question

I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport that needs a new engine...will an engine from a 96 cherokee work for it...both are 4.0 inline 6 cyl...thx

Yes but you will need more than just the motor. Computer and splicing required.

Is there a difference between 98 and 99 4.0s?If not then it should work.I put a 98 in my 96 and nothing else and it works fine.Been in for over a year now.I'm not trying to contradict you,I'm just asking.
