When pressing in the clutch to downshift a sound like cracking plastic happened. Now my clutch pedal only comes about halfway up and I have to push it to the floor to disengage. Everything on the clutch pedal appears fine and there is plenty of clutch fluid.

You looked at the master cylinder under the hood and the slave cylinder on the back of the bellhousing yet? I'm guessing something broke.

Everything appears normal. The master and slave cylinders were replaced when the clutch was replaced. Which is less than 1,000 miles ago.
